Benjamin Piiru is the Director of Grid Integration at Nexamp, a renewable energy developer based in Boston. In his role he focuses on how to make the energy industry better at interconnection through innovations in process, technology, and policy. He has spent his career focused on how to make renewable energy better, cleaner, and more accessible for all stakeholders. His previous experiences working for state and federal government, renewable developers, utilities, an independent system operator, and an energy-focused law firm have given him the unique ability to see issues and find solutions from multiple perspectives. Hailing originally from San Francisco, Benjamin spends most of his time watching movies with his wife, keeping his 20 month old son alive, and practicing martial arts. Benjamin graduated from UC Berkeley in 2009, where he majored in English with a minor in mathematics, and from UC Davis School of Law in 2019 where he focused his studies on energy regulation and policy.
