Brandon Teal

Regional Interconnection Manager, Silicon Ranch
Brandon Teal is an electrical engineer with over 7 years of experience in the utility and clean energy industry. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in 2015. After graduation, he worked as a Protection and Control Design Engineer for Southern Company. In this role, he designed protection and control systems for substations on the system. He later moved to a Project Support role, where he scoped and estimated greenfield/brownfield substation projects. In 2021, Brandon joined Silicon Ranch, one of the largest independent solar power producers in the country. He is currently a Senior Interconnection Project Manager, where he leads and manages interconnection related activities in numerous regions of the country, mainly in the Southeast. This includes transmission and distribution interconnected projects. As an undergraduate student, Brandon developed a passion for helping other students. He worked as a Peer Career Advisor in the Auburn University Career Center, where he assisted students with resume review, interview prep, and job search. This passion for helping students fueled his post-graduate involvement in the college. He currently serves on the Auburn Engineering Young Alumni Council and the Auburn Electrical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board. He has participated in student panels, student mentoring sessions, and mock interviews with current engineering students. Brandon is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (MBA) and is currently enrolled in Yale University's Deploying & Financing Clean Energy Certificate Program. He is passionate about using his skills and experience to help the power industry transition to a clean energy future.
