Dr. Xing Wang is currently Global Leader of Grid Modernization at AWS Energy and Utilities. He joined Amazon Web Services in Nov 2021 from Centrica/British Gas, where he had worked for 5 years as SVP/CTO of Centrica Business Solutions, managing Centrica’s B2B customer platforms and the development of distributed energy solutions , such as Virtual Power Plants, Energy Insights, etc. Prior to Centrica, Dr. Wang was Sr. Director of R&D and Software Engineering with GE/Alstom Grid Solutions, responsible for Energy Management System, Market Management System, and Distribution Management System product lines. From 2001 to 2014, he led the development and delivery of market systems for 5 RTOs/ISOs in the U.S. He is based in Seattle, WA.
